May, as they say, is the queen month of Festivals. There is
the Santacruzan in every Baranggay, the Pahiyas in
Quezon, the Aliwan Grand Fiesta in Manila, and many
more. And I am very glad that in all these celebrations, we
also include a day in May to honor and appreciate a

person who plays an important role in our lives , i.e.
“Mother’s Day”.

Being a mother is the toughest job of all. Imagine being
engaged 24 hours and with no pay and no day off. She has
to be on her feet running, walking, skipping and jumping
and sometimes, it goes unappreciated. Yet, resignation is
not an option.

Our mothers were created to bring love, joy, happiness
and caring. If not for these values that she demonstrated,

we would not have experienced and understood what
they meant. And, precisely because of her example, we
came to learn about bringing these values in the work
place. Today, practicing our core values of Customer Focus,
Integrity, Team Work, Innovation and Social Responsibility

can be easily traced to how we were brought up in the
beginning.

So in this maiden of issue of Southlink, let us enjoy reading
about the milestones that our teams have achieved, and
celebrate as well the manner by which we created the
memories of said milestones through the practice of our
company core values.
