The much talked about C5 South
Link Girder Launch started last
October 06, 2018 and is targeted to
finish by Q1 of 2019. It’s importance is
that this portion of the construction

is what will connect the East portion
of C5-Southlink which is from C.P.
Garcia Avenue to the West portion
marked by Merville, Paranaque. A
bridge which crosses major
highways is no mean feat to
construct. Imagine approximately 45
tons of concrete being hoisted across
the Philippine National Railway,

more so 56 tons of steel being
balanced on top of the Skyway at
grade and soon the South Luzon
Expressway, not to mention with its
volume of vehicles regardless if the
activity is from 11 P.M. to 4 A.M. poses
more challenges.

So we ask ourselves now, what in the
world is this article talking about?
What is a Girder launch? It is better

to see and believe and continue to
root for the MPTS team to continue
in building our Nation, while you
were sleeping.
