Dear MPT South Employees,
Let me first congratulate the SouthLink Editorial Team for a job
well done. Coming up with a timely and relevant e-newsletter is
not an easy task, especially when it is on top of their everyday jobs.
Keep it up!
I was asked by the editorial team to give a short message on
health and nutrition. I am not an authority in this field, but I can
share with you my thoughts on this very important theme.
Having good health is our responsibility to our family, our
company and ourselves. I love my family and I want to spend
quality time with them and I cannot do that when I am sick.
Being well gives us also the opportunity to earn a living which is
important to our loved ones.
Being healthy is our responsibility to our company as well for
healthy employees are productive employees. We can be a great
contributor if we are present and focused on our job. Health
issues distracts us and keeps us away from our job. I love my job
so I try my best to stay healthy.
It is our responsibility to ourselves too. Good health can lead to a
lifetime of happiness. By health, I mean not only our physical
health but our mental and spiritual health as well.
The foundation of good health is proper nutrition. Eat healthier
and in moderation. Nothing beats balanced diet and proper
exercise. Fad diets promise to let you lose weight fast, but they
are not sustainable and usually result to weight gain. Too much of
everything is not good for you. It may lead to obesity and/or
sickness. Try to savor every bite of the food you eat. A piece of
peanut and a mouthful of peanut taste the same. You may want
to eat it one nut at a time rather than gobbling a mouthful every
time. As they say “you are what you eat”. The choices you make
everyday can help you achieve a healthier and happier life.
