Metro Pacific Tollways Fast-Track Talents for Its Expansion
By Sigrid Shun, Human Resources and Administration
By end of June 2018, Metro Pacific Tollways hired 22 engineers for the Technical and Professional (TAP)
program, a management trainee program for engineers. It is intended for graduates of Engineering
courses such as Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial
Engineering.
Within 17 months, the young and vibrant engineers shall familiarized themselves with the workings of
the Metro Pacific Tollways group by immersing in toll road operations, maintenance, and project
management among others. Moreover, the TAP program shall developed the engineers’ functional and
behavioral competencies through diverse learning methodologies like classroom lectures, projects, and
coaching to instill in them a strong sense of passion for customer service and drive for excellence.
Once the TAP engineers successfully complete the program, they are matched with the different
business units of Metro Pacific Tollways and are hired for regular employment. As part of the sourcing
strategy, the TAP program in its third cycle has helped Metro Pacific Tollways meet its dynamic expansion
in the region.
